TimeOut: Jakarta

Whoaah… I am very happy when I found TimeOut: Jakarta on the bookshelf at Gramedia. I think Time Out magazine is the coolest city-life magazine that I ever read. I used to read Time Out (London) – the one and only magazine I subscribed as a poor student. Time Out has international edition: New York, Sydney, Barcelona, Hongkong…. to name but a few…. and now: Jakarta! Doesn’t it sound cool?

It’s a bit difficult to choose which part I like, because I like all. Film? Restaurant? Books? Gadget? Travel? Performance? … in fact, I read ALL… oh well, I like ART section more… We also can find “Events” and “Venues” with FREE notice in red for special occasion. I also love “special editions” like “100 places you have to visit during weekend in London” or something like that. Really, I think this magazine is worth reading.

What is the thing that made their writing looks special? because it’s 110% independent. It’s not only sweet but also sour hehe I think honesty is important? So we know what to expect.

On TimeOut London I really love “Overheard on the underground” section because it’s really mad and fun :D On TO Jakarta, it’s only “Overheard” and not that funny :( ok, that’s always a room for improvement! :D Keep it up, TOJ’s team!

PS: some of my friends wonder why I say my blog official language is English but in fact most of my posting were in Bahasa Indonesia. They even thought that I did that in purpose because I wrote bad thing about them (eghhh… quite true hehe kidding!) Well, even in Bahasa Indonesia I also made mistakes so why I don’t write in English? Although I know that my English is awful sooo please, bear with me :)

Update: I just bought the March edition. The “overheard” is much better :) My best pick:

A: ‘I went to Gloria Jeans yesterday.’

B: ‘Oh, did you get a nice pair?’

huahahaha *rofl*

Yup! It’s cool! I got free one–the first edition while I hang out last month. Then guess what? I’m busy to put some “post it” on it to mark movie, sport and art section. I will need some contact address and of course the review… there badly (sure I keep the contact number in my phone then). But still like you said, for me there are many room that available to be improved, they should enhance the art section more… :D
